CLOSING REMARKS

On behalf of the organizing committees, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Ian Singleton from Edinburgh Napier University, UK; Prof. Dr. Uda Bin Hashim from Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia; Prof. Benoit Dayrat from Pennsylvania State University, USA; Assoc. Prof. Hiroshi Miyake from Kitasato University, Japan; Prof. Dato’ Dr. Aileen Tan Shau Hwai from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia; and Assoc. Prof. Anchana Prathep from Prince Songkla University, Thailand as the keynote speakers. I would also like to thank Prof. Mohammad Basyuni, Ph.D from Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia as the invited speaker.

My sincere gratitude goes to Rector, Vice Rector, and Head of Institute of Research and Community Services (LPPM), Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia for financial support and contribution. To all members of the organizing committees, the international scientific committees, the reviewers, the editors, the moderators, the student volunteers, and the collaboration partners (Universiti Sains Malaysia and Prince Songkla University), I would like to thank all of them for their tremendous efforts to organize this virtual conference successfully.

This conference is held annually by Institute of Research and Community Services (LPPM), Universitas Syiah Kuala since 2011. Unfortunately, in 2020, this conference was held in virtual format due to global pandemic Covid19 through Zoom platform. All presenters were enthusiastic in attending the two days conference so they could share their research findings internationally. Best paper and best presenter were also announced at the end of the conference.

In 2020, our conference has received 48 full papers in total, whereby only 32 papers have been accepted by two independent reviewers (double-blind review) through OCS platform for presentation and publication. The selected papers are submitted to IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science indexed by Scopus.

As the conference director, it was a great honour to organize an amazing unforgettable successful virtual conference and I do hope that all attendees enjoy and benefit from this conference. I am hoping that the Covid-19 global pandemic will be over as soon as possible so this virtual conference will be the first and the last.

Best regards,

Dr. Dewi Yunita
